Plants are extremely diverse creatures and there are many different species of it that have been discovered in the past, and some are still unknown. In order to continue organize and study them, a plant classification system must be followed.
Classifying plants based on common characteristics is important because it will allow easier identification of plants by grouping them into family.

It also gives a sense of order and organization among different species of them so that scientist will be able to know the different varieties of plants. This is to avoid confusion and complications. Lastly, it provides us information on their similarities, usefulness, origin and evolution.
